What is Chatbase?

Chatbase lets you build an AI agent trained on your own content, such as your documents, website and knowledge base, and put it in front of customers where they already are. The agent answers from what you've taught it, takes actions on your behalf and hands off to a person when it should. What can Chatbase do?

• Train an agent on your own documents, websites or databases.
• Actions: pre-built actions for human escalation, Slack, Stripe, Calendly, lead collection and web search, plus custom actions that call any API.
• Channels: deploy one agent to your website, email, Meta apps, Shopify, phone, Slack, Zendesk and more.
• No-code setup: connect data sources, define the agent's role and set guardrails, then test real customer scenarios before going live.
• Analytics to track conversations and monitor how the agent performs.

How would an AI agent built on Chatbase work?

An example e-commerce support setup, following the integration pattern in Chatbase's Developer Guide. DartzDabz hasn't tested it.

1. Create an agent and add your help-center pages, shipping policy and returns policy as data sources.
2. Define its role and guardrails, then run real customer questions in the playground and refine the answers.
3. Embed the chat bubble on your product pages with Chatbase's copy-paste script.
4. Turn on identity verification for logged-in customers and add a custom action that looks up orders and starts returns.
5. Add the human-escalation action so the agent hands hard cases to your team.

How do you integrate Chatbase?

• Website embed: a Chat Bubble or Center Stage widget.
• REST API v2 at https://www.chatbase.co/api/v2, with streaming over Server-Sent Events and cursor-based pagination. Chatbase says API v2 is available from its Standard plan.
• Webhooks for chat events, and a CLI to manage agents, sources and conversations from a terminal or CI.
• Mobile: an Android SDK (alpha) and an iOS SDK (beta).
• MCP: Chatbase documents connecting MCP clients such as Claude and Cursor to your workspace.
